Independent mastery · not AI dependency

Learn it. Retrieve it. Use it. Prove it.

This is not a library of AI summaries. It is a training system for building the chemistry, nanotechnology, paper-reading and bench reasoning needed to own your MASc research.

The anti-crutch contract

AI comes after your first attempt.

1Retrieve from memory before opening notes.
2Explain the mechanism in your own words before seeing an expert explanation.
3Read figures and methods before trusting the authors’ conclusion.
4Write what would falsify your hypothesis before the experiment.
5Call it mastery only when you can transfer it to a new paper or experiment.

Mastery Map

Progress from recognition to explanation, application and transfer across the exact concepts your coating research needs.

Paper Gym

Reconstruct the paper’s causal argument, controls, assumptions and weakest link instead of reading linearly.

Experiment Lab

Pre-commit mechanism, variables, controls, predictions and falsification before data can bias the story.

Why this system exists

Feeling overwhelmed is a workflow problem too.

A research paper mixes many layers at once: chemistry vocabulary, prior literature, instrumentation, statistics, tacit lab practice and a new claim. The solution is not to read more slowly. It is to build prerequisite schemas deliberately, retrieve them repeatedly, and reconnect them to real experiments.

Target: move from “I understand when someone explains it” to “I can predict, critique, calculate, design and troubleshoot without the explanation in front of me.”
